Currency
The currency of Namibia is the Namibian Dollar NAD, however they also accept South African Rand (ZAR) at parity. Please note that the reverse is not applicable (they do not accept NAD in South Africa). Visa and Master card are the most widely accepted credit cards. Please note that not all filling stations accept credit card though this is evolving.

Visa
Nationals and citizens of countries that do not have a reciprocal visa exemption agreement with Namibia will be required to apply for a visa to enter the country.

  • USD 90 for citizens from non-African countries
  • USD 70 for citizens from African countries

Internal Flights and Transfers
There are many options for transfers/transport in Namibia.

Self drive is a very common way to explore Namibia due to a good road network, with many international car hire companies to choose from including 4WD and 4WD camping vehicles.

Road transfers are available for all airport transfers as well as private transfers for longer distances between tourist destinations.

There is a limited network of scheduled flights between major cities/towns in Namibia, predominantly from Windhoek with Air Namibia.

There is a network of light aircraft scheduled transfers from Windhoek to major tourist destinations as well as the option of private charter flights, quoted on request.

Departure Taxes
International departure taxes generally included in all flights.
