The Kariba Ferry service operates along the whole of Lake Kariba from Kariba Town to Mlibizi and back. Their ferry, “Sea Lion” carries up to 70 passengers and 15 vehicles on a full day and overnight journey lasting 22 hours. There is a height restriction of 1.95 metres for 12 vehicles and three parking spaces in an open-deck area with no height restriction (ideal for high clearance 4x4’s with roof racks or roof tents).
Facilities on board include, chair-beds inside, mattresses for on deck and all bedding (sleeping is communal), toilets and hot showers, three full meals, teas and coffees and a licensed cash bar. The ferry departs on scheduled departure dates, sailing from Kariba to Mlibizi and returning the following day from Mlibizi to Kariba. The ferry sails promptly at 0900 am from the Kariba and Mlibizi harbors. Passengers are advised to be at the embarkation points no later than 1 hour before as late arrivals may miss the boat.
