The owner-run Camp Nkwazi is nestled on the banks of the mighty Zambezi river a short drive from Livingstone and easily accessible by road. The river extends the length of the property, with a small island in front of the camp and due to being in the riverine forest, the birding in the camp grounds is great.

Accommodation consists of 10 self-catering “tented” chalets of which two are wheelchair friendly, six are river facing and four overlook a floodplain. The chalets are tastefully furnished and well equipped, offering complimentary tea and coffee. The three quarter beds can be converted to double beds on request. Camp Nkwazi also has camping facilities in a forested area behind the camp.

The main area has a bar, restaurant and swimming pool with a large deck overlooking the river. The restaurant caters for all meals under the thatch roof or out on the open deck.

In-house activities at Camp Nkwazi include a falls visit and a sunset cruise.

Optional activities booked at an additional cost include helicopter or microlight flights, fishing, game viewing, canoe, mokoro or boat trips on the Zambezi and swimming in the spectacular devil’s pool, to name a few.
