Kumbali Country Lodge is a private lodge situated on a 650 hectare forest reserve and dairy farm in Lilongwe, Malawi. Only 10 minutes from the capital city along a quiet traffic-free road, the lodge is stylish, relaxed and informal. Kumbali is the perfect stopover to other Malawi travel destinations.
There are 14 executive and 2 deluxe rooms which all have outdoor seating and wonderful views to look out on.
The Malawi restaurant is open 7 days a week offering a fine selection of dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Situated in the main lodge, the Lilongwe restaurant is stylish, comfortable and relaxed, allowing guests to sit back and enjoy the culinary delights served from the kitchen. An exclusive fine dining experience offering up to 7 courses can be served in the private restaurant and lounge.
Activities on offer includes a Kumbali Cultural Village, a great place to experience the traditional Malawian cuisine such as nsima (staple food made from grain flour, usually maize), pumpkin leaves with groundnut flour, amaranth leaves, beans with tomato and onion relish, and mandazi (fried dough) with honey for dessert. Just a short walk from Kumbali Country Lodge, is Nature’s Gift Permaculture Centre- a demonstration plot for Kusamala Institute of Agriculture and Ecology. The permaculture centre sits on 20 hectares of land and serves to demonstrate and promote solutions for food and nutrition security in Malawi and beyond. Walking, birding and trips to Lake Malawi and National Parks can be arranged and all activities are at an additional cost.
