Kana Kara is situated in a large private concession in the northern region of the Okavango Delta, between the Selinda Spillway and the Vumbura River.

The classic safari camp accommodates 16 guests in eight traditional meru-style tents, comfortably equipped with en-suite facilities including a shower, basin and toilet. There is no electricity and lighting is provided by LED, solar and paraffin lamps, however camera charging is possible in the main area.

The main area is set upon a lagoon and is comprised of a mess tent with a dining and small lounge area, as well as a outdoor fire pit area.

Activities from camp include morning mokoro excursions and exploration of the numerous islands on foot. Being poled through the delta’s channels by mokoro is an essential delta experience, while exploring on-foot helps guests experience the finer details of the landscape and area while on the search for game. In the afternoons, guests are offered a game drive with sundowners out in the bush for total relaxation.

A further optional activity on offer at Kana Kara from May – October is a unique hot air balloon ride over the Okavango Delta. This activity needs to be pre-booked as it can accommodate limited numbers only and runs at an additional cost. Please note that the departure is subject to weather conditions at the time of travel and is fully refundable.
