Val du Charron Wine & Leisure Estate and Guesthouse is located on a working farm in the heart of the Bovlei valley, ten minutes from the town of Wellington and under an hour’s drive from Cape Town.

Val du Charron (Valley of the Wagonmakers) is the original name of Wellington. It was so named towards the end of the 17th century when the area was settled by the French Huguenots, who brought with them the art of wine- and wagonmaking. De Groenenbergh farm (now Val du Charron) was proclaimed in 1699 and granted to Mr. Pieter Erasmus of the Netherlands who farmed on this property with his four sons. Val Du Charron is a modern venue with an old wine making tradition and fascinating history.
