North Island Okavango is situated on an island known locally as Xuxuga, surrounded by floodplains, waterways and open savannah. Being at the upstream end of the Okavango Delta, this area is the first to get the annual floodwaters.
The camp has 7 spacious tents each on raised wooden decks under the shady boughs of wild ebony trees, with views of the lagoon. Each tent has an en-suite bathroom with an indoor and outdoor shower, a bathtub as well as a private veranda and private plunge pool.
Overlooking the lagoon, the separate lounge and dining areas are connected by a deck which extends outwards for stargazing around the fire. Also located next to the main area is a separate library and outdoor gym area.
Activities on offer at North Island Okavango include game drives, game walks, boating and mokoro. Fishing can be done between April and December. At an additional cost guests can go on scenic helicopter flights.
