Enjoying an idyllic island setting on a 50,000-hectare private concession in the Okavango Delta’s Panhandle region, Kala Camp offers an exclusive, mainly water-based safari experience.
This small and intimate camp offers 6 classic meru-tents built on wooden decks overlooking a beautiful palm island. Each ensuite tent has its own veranda from which guests can enjoy a breath-taking view over the surrounding floodplains.
Kala’s main area includes a dining area, and a boma with fireplace. Kala Camp has a well shaded relaxation area and swimming pool.
At Kala activities are focused on boating and mokoro trips, when water levels high (during the winter months usually between May and October). Game drives are available all year round but limited when water levels are too high.
Airstrip transfer time: Approximately 25 minute boat ride (April to November) and March)
