Serowe town is located in the central district of Botswana and is home to the Bangwato tribe and landmarked by the Thathaganyana Hill. This village is known as ‘the royal village’ because it is the home town of the Sir Seretse Khama dynasty, and it is the birth place of the first President. Khama Rhino Sanctuary, a community based wildlife project that provides habitat for white and black rhino and other plains game such as Oryx, springbok and eland, is a mere 40 kilometres from Serowe.
