Thakadu Camp is situated near to Ghanzi Village on its own private game reserve in the land of the “Khoi San” or Bushmen. Previously extremely remote, Ghanzi is now served by the Trans-Kalahari Highway which was completed in the late nineties. Thakadu overlooks a natural pan with permanent water, surrounded by ancient “Motswiri” or leadwood trees. The pan attracts large numbers of Kalahari Game and a fabulous variety of birds.

Accommodation is provided in 2 en-suite chalets, 4 en-suite meru tents, 4 budget tents & a campsite. The chalets are climate controlled (sleeping up to 2 adults plus 1 child on a small camp bed) and en-suite with a small deck out front. The en-suite meru tents are twin-bedded East African style safari tents erected on rock plinths overlooking the surrounding bush lands.

The camp features a lively bar and restaurant with a swimming pool overlooking a floodlit waterhole where sable antelope and springbok can be spotted coming to drink in the evenings.

Optional activities at Thakadu Lodge available at an additional cost include bushwalks, bushman guided walks and bushman dances.
