Set in the most remote part of the World Heritage site in Mana Pools National Park, Kanga Camp takes its name from Kanga Pan near to Chitake Springs. This remote area has never been developed and Kanga Camp offers you a pure and unspoilt African experience and is a great base from which to explore the diversity of habitats of Mana Pools: the river systems of the Ruckomechi River, mixed woodlands from mopane woodland to Jesse bushes and riverine forests.
Accommodation at this intimate tented camp comprises of 4 standard tents as well as 2 family units/ honeymoon tents, offering stunning views of the water hole. All tents have en-suite bathroom facilities as well as outdoor showers and basins.
Kanga pan is the only known source of water in the area that is available all year round thus making it a hub for wildlife. The area can be best described as an explorer's paradise, especially for walking to untamed areas that are inaccessible by vehicle. The beauty of this area is that you will not encounter anybody else thus making it a private corner of Africa. Yet, you also have access to the Zambezi river floodplains of Mana Pools which are located within an hour's drive. Excursions to Chitake Springs can be booked for longer stays through special prior arrangements.
Kanga Camp is a seasonal camp open from 1st April – 10 December.
