Royal Chundu Lodge, which translates as the ‘meeting place of the chief’, is an oasis of quiet relaxation and unsullied beauty on the banks of the mighty Zambezi River upstream from The Victoria Falls. Consisting of two luxury lodges – River Lodge and Island Lodge, Royal Chundu commands its own private piece of the Zambezi river (15 Km’s), guarded by rapids at either side with nothing but the majestic bush land as far as the eye can see.
Katomboro Island Lodge consists of 4 private suites with luxury amenities, located on Katombora Island, 4 kilometers upstream from the River Lodge. Rhodesian teak hardwood suites that are complimented with thatched roofs create a lodge that sits in perfect harmony with its pristine natural environment. The plant and birdlife is carefully preserved by matching elevated teak walkways that connect the suits with the main areas and infinity edge swimming pool.
The Villas are exquisitely decorated, reflecting of sweet memories of comfort in the wild. The “Out of Africa” home-stay is completed by a private deck facing the awesome river.
The room facilities includes, air-conditioning, lounge, double bed with side tables, mosquito net, overhead fan, therapeutic glass-walled shower overlooking the river, double vanity, separate toilet, large walk-in closet with “Bulawayo Hatch”, ladies dressing table, writing desk and chair.
The lodge has indoor and outdoor dining facilities, fire place and an open plan deck overlooking the river.
Depending on what rate basis, guests can enjoy, a daily sundowner cruise or if on the fully inclusive rate then all activities Any Livingstone activities not included can be pre-booked which is recommended or booked directly at the lodge.

The 4 private suites share a lounge, dining and pool area and are located on our private and exclusive Katombora Island, 4 kilometres upstream from the River Lodge.
Each Suite has an indoor shower and beautiful outdoor bath on a deck with lounger and the most amazing sunrise and sunset views.
The Suites have air-conditioning, phones, wi-fi and mini-bars for all the necessary conveniences - but they also allow you to completely disconnect and relax. King beds under romantic mosquito nets, the whirring of wooden paddle fans, the splashing of the flowing river...
It's paradise.
