In the shade of Mount Kenya lies Sanctuary Tambarare, situated within the award wining Ol Pejeta Conservancy, 90,000 acres of unspoilt African wilderness, including the last two northern white rhinos on earth. With the conservancy’s remarkable opportunities for up-close-and-personal encounters, Tambarare delivers the perfect balance of adventure and serenity.
The camp boasts 10 canvas tents, all with a private veranda overlooking the grassy plains. Guests can enjoy floor-to-ceiling cinematic views of the landscape from the comfort of their beds. Each tent is en-suite with a walk-in shower and double basin.
Sanctuary Tambarare’s main area is made up of a spacious and beautifully appointed main tent, with inviting sofas and chairs that encourage guests to linger. There is also a refined bar tent with an attractive deck and loungers overlooking the boma.
At an additional cost guests can enjoy rhino encounters, lion tracking, cycling safari, horse riding with the rhinos, guided bush walks and a hippo hide nature trail.
