Okavango Horse Safaris, based within a private concession along the south western waterways of the Okavango Delta, offers Kujwana Camp set in open, panoramic floodplains, Mokolowane Camp along a riverbank plus a seasonal Fly Camp which moves to the best game areas. Whilst the primary focus is on horseback safaris for competent, experienced riders, this superb location with plentiful wildlife affords Okavango Horse Safaris an array of activities for those not wishing to participate in the riding. *Please note: non-riders must be booked in advance.

Kujwana Camp
Most nights are spent at Kujwana Camp which is comprised of two stylish riverside suites with gorgeous views of the waterways, as well as four comfortable classic style Meru Tents. All have en-suite bush bathroom facilities and basic guest amenities are included.

The main camp area houses the relaxation and dining areas. Camp cooks prepare fresh, tasty meals including saddlebag picnic breakfasts and light picnic lunches. Three course dinners by candlelight are served at the dining table close to the crackling campfire.

*As horse riding safaris take priority it’s important to note rides are long and rigorous. Riding is an incredibly unique way to discover the watercourses of the Okavango and the wildlife that flourishes there. Riding routes meander through grassy floodplains, which, during the high water level times (generally May to September), require the horses to wade from island to island.  Rides are on average four to six hours daily. During this time 10 minute walks breaks are taken for every two hours in the saddle. Refreshments are available during these breaks over and above either a picnic breakfast or lunch.

Additional activities offered include evening bird/game walks, mokoro dugout canoe excursions and power boat activities (water level dependent). Also on offer are afternoon game drives and night game spotting drives. Game, including elephant, giraffe, buffalo, zebra, numerous antelope and bird species are abundant in this idyllic Okavango Delta setting.
