The Lodge is situated in a 10,000 acres private Wildlife Park which was established in 1979. It is inspired by the design of an African Village and comprises a number of brick and gum pole buildings under slate, spreading gracefully over the Eastern crest of Lake Chitoka.

Accommodation consists of thirty separate suites, each with en-suite bathrooms and air conditioning, elegantly decorated in a fusion of contemporary and traditional African themes. There are also four fully-furnished and equipped villas with lounge, dining room, kitchenette and four en-suite bedrooms. Chaminuka offers several 'Insakas' - village lounge areas - where guests can relax in private, enjoying the glorious panoramic views across Chaminuka's African Eden which melts into the wilderness beyond. Your sundowners will taste best at the Lupili Insaka and Deck, overlooking Lake Chitoka, from where you can watch some of the most glorious sunsets of Africa. The lodge boasts three libraries, two restaurants, a games room, tennis court, swimming pool, jacuzzi and curio shop.

The Chaminuka Nature Reserve has more than 72 species of wildlife and the lodge offers a wide range of activities to keep you entertained during your stay from game drives to fishing and interpretative bush walks. In addition to the wildlife and the birds you can learn about the vegetation and the medicinal values of plants and trees as they are used locally. The diversity of the habitat at Chaminuka makes it a premier bird watching location. More than 300 species of birdlife have been recorded in the area. Visits to local villages, schools, churches and the Kaposhi Cheese Factory are possible and Chaminuka also offers day trips to Lusaka and to the Kasisi Children's Home at an additional cost.
