Pumulani is subtly nestles in the lush hills amongst the trees and craggy outcrops on the west side of the Nankumba Peninsula on the South end of Lake Malawi. The beauty of this lake is indescribable. The beautiful sparkling colors shimmering over the water, the clear blue skies and the panoramic vistas truly make you feel like you are in paradise. David Livingstone named Lake Malawi ‘Lake of Stars’ for good reason. According to experts this lake is home to more native fish species than any other lake in the world
The ten villas are situated in such a way that they blend in completely with the natural surroundings and all feature grass roofs to reflect the heat, providing the ultimate in space, design, comfort and privacy.
Each villa has its own distinct character. The villas consist of a bedroom, sitting area and bathroom with double showers, double basins and toilet. The bedroom and sitting area open out on to an elevated deck. The sitting area has a coffee/tea corner and a small fridge for cool drinks. The main area with restaurant and bar is set high above the lake with magnificent views. Meals are served either on the beach, in the gardens or in the restaurant.
The flora and fauna surrounding the lodge is amazing. It is a bird watchers paradise with over 300 different bird species. A popular combination is a walk along the trail heading through the hills, finishing at a secluded beach and kayaking back to Pumulani along the shoreline of the National Park. Mountain biking is equally popular.
For those who like to sunbathe and simply relax there is a private beach and an infinity swimming pool. The pool is situated on the upper terrace with beautiful views overlooking the water and the hills beyond. Pumulani offers many activities - snorkelling, kayaking, waterskiing, diving or fishing, a sail on the lake on a traditional wooden dhow as well as a village trips for those who like to experience true African village life.

The family villa is the closest to the beach and all activities are easily organised from this point. Just off the master bedroom is a twin room with a large spacious bathroom with double basins, showers and a bath. The sitting area has plenty of space for the whole family to relax.
Large spacious ensuite rooms. Each has a lounge area as well as a verandah. Also each has a kitchenette with tea and coffee making facilities along with a minibar.
