Kaza Safari Lodge is situated at the meeting place of two mighty African rivers, the Chobe and Zambezi, at the very tip of the Caprivi Strip where four countries meet: Namibia, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Botswana. Kaza Lodge forms the north-eastern tip of Namibia and lies just 70 km west of Victoria Falls.
The lodge has eight luxury elevated private chalets within a lush riverine forest, and offers great views over the Mambova rapids and quiet backwaters of the Zambezi River. Each chalet has a en-suite bathroom, private deck, overhead fan, mosquito nets and hairdryer. The main complex facilities include a swimming pool, bar, curio shop, reference library, lounge and dining area all built under the canopy of an ancient baobab.
Activities include game viewing by motor boat and game cruises along the Chobe River with possible sightings of elephant, hippo, buffalo, lion, rare puku, Chobe bushbuck and many more. Guests can try their hand at fly-fishing or conventional fishing for the elusive tiger fish or bream on the Zambezi, Chobe or Kasai Rivers by mokoro or motor boat. Also available are mokoro excursions and bird watching or just pure relaxation while exploring the nearby wild islands and waterways. Guests also have the opportunity to explore on foot alone or guided walks into the surrounding islands.
For an additional cost, also available are day trips to Victoria Falls by air charter or road transfers as well as specialist guiding and scenic charter flights over the Chobe and Zambezi Rivers and Kaza Lodge.
Chobe River / Caprivi
This property is located on the Chobe River, but within Namibia’s Caprivi Strip, requiring guests to check into Namibia for the duration of their stay. The Chobe experience here is all about being on the river and watching the wildlife congregate at the riverbanks. Guests wanting to game drive in Chobe National Park will need to re-enter Botswana in order to do this, usually at an extra cost.
Transfer Time: 1 hour boat transfer, including border crossing
