Just over three and a half hours drive from Cape Town, in the eastern, most private sector of De Hoop Nature Reserve, is Lekkerwater Beach Lodge. Lekkerwater was selected for its extraordinary beauty and seclusion to be ex-President FW de Klerk’s ‘Camp David’ and today offers a homely and comfortable beach and fynbos experience. The Lodge is set on a five-kilometer stretch of pristine beach, with each of its seven bedrooms offering panoramic views, wood burning stoves and homely furnishings. Activities-wise, the lodge specialises on guided and educational experiences that focus on the fynbos and the pristine coastline. The activities consist mainly of exploring on foot, and/or enjoying some feet in the sand dining when the tides and weather allows. There are a range of self guided trail options available.
Lekkerwater operates guaranteed arrivals every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
Kindly note your timings should be such that you arrive at the Lekkerwater Car Park ideally around 2pm on your arrival day and before 4pm when the Cape Nature Park gate closes. From the car park you will be met and transferred the last 6km on rough tracks over the mountain in the lodge’s 4x4. Lekkerwater Beach Lodge itself is not accessible by private vehicle.
