Savute Elephant Lodge lies in the heart of the Chobe National Park, perched on the banks of the sometimes dry, sometimes wet Savute Channel. Savute Elephant Lodge thus offers a spectacular base from which to explore the area. The region is famed for one of Africa’s largest concentration of elephant and consequently a particularly skilled lion pride has evolved in the area, specialising in hunting elephants.
This luxurious lodge consists of twelve twin-bedded canvas tents, well shaded under thatch and air-conditioned which offer respite from the warmer temperatures and feature lavishly appointed en-suite bathrooms and dressing areas. They also have private viewing decks and comfortable outdoor lounges overlooking an adjacent waterhole just metres away from the lodge’s main building, offering a bird’s eye view of elephant in their natural habitat
The lodge offers game viewing activities in the morning and late afternoons. These activities take place in an open 4x4 safari vehicle, designed for comfort and safety. It offers guests the opportunity to get close to these grey giants and other large game under the skilled guidance of an expert guide. San tribal rock paintings dot the nearby hills and bird watching in the region is excellent. Please note that activities are restricted to set regulations designed to conserve the ecosystem as the lodge is within a national park.

All tented rooms are housed on raised wooden platforms, offering spectacular panoramic views, shaded by a traditional African thatch roof. The expansive private decks are furnished with a huge daybed as well as two comfortable armchairs and a side table - perfect for viewing wildlife, an afternoon nap or for enjoying a dinner in complete privacy.
The interiors are luxuriously appointed with en suite bathrooms and a large outdoor shower, in commune with nature. The four-poster bed as well as a lounging sofa, are outward facing with uninterrupted views onto passing wildlife.
