Frans Indongo Lodge is located northeast of Otjiwarongo and northwest of Waterberg Mountain in Namibia. The lodge is ideally suited as a stopover from Windhoek to Etosha, the far north, to Bushman land or the Caprivi. The Lodge is close to the tar road but nevertheless in the midst of the African bush savannah.
The lodge has 2 double rooms, 2 family units and 8 generously proportioned chalets. All the rooms have their own bathroom and air-conditioning.
In the main public areas you can find a restaurant, bar, pool, wooden terrace and a deck for game viewing.
Activities offered are two-hour game drives in open off-road vehicles and for those who like exploring the wild on foot; there are three walking trails to choose from. The main attraction is the sprinted training for cheetahs run by the Cheetah conservation fund and restaurant for vultures established by the rare and endangered species trust to protect cape vultures in Namibia, a colony of which can be seen on the cliffs of the Waterberg Mountains. Excursions to the Waterberg on the eastern cliffs of “Water Mountain” can be arranged with the lodge. All activities are at an additional cost.
The plateau on the table mountain is a designated nature reserve. Ovaherero cultural centre is situated on a farm called Hamakari east of the Waterberg; it is an historical site and is now a cultural and tourism centre.

You can have a refreshing dip into the swimming pool, and when the sun starts to set just before dinner you can retreat to the large wooden veranda at the bar or the little observation tower. Both are fabulous places for savouring the enchanting hour of dusk - and keeping an eye on the watering place which is illuminated at night. The rare Nyala, Black Springbok and White Blesbok, Sable and Roan Antelope regularly put in an appearance.

Have a refreshing dip into the swimming pool. Inside the complex a palisade separates the restaurant and swimming pool area from the guest chalets and thereby provides more privacy.

he Cheetah Conservation Fund (CCF) was founded in 1990.
The CCF information centre is as entertaining as instructive and definitely worthwhile. Cheetah which no longer can be released into the wilds for various reasons, are kept in large enclosures next to the centre. You will be able to take stunning pictures of the big cats. On certain days visitors are also welcome to watch Cheetah at full speed during their sprint-training.

Our family unit consist of two seperated rooms, one sharing bathroom and an inter leading door.
The children’s room is equipped with a queen size sofa bed (size 153 x 190 cm). The master bedroom is equipped with two ¾ size beds standing next to each other (size for one bed is 107 x 190 cm).
Both rooms sharing the bathroom with a bath tub, shower , toilet, 2 wash basins.
Two sliding doors are giving way to a small terrace and the garden.
All the rooms have their own bathroom, air-conditioner, fridge, hairdryer, telephone, and an electric kettle for tea and coffee.

Frans Indongo Bush Camping is situated 46 km from Otjiwarongo on the D2433. Therefore it is not only the ideal stopover for the traveler enroute from Windhoek to the Etosha National Park, the Caprivi or to Botswana, but it also offers various remarkable day trips to nearby surroundings.
The BUSH CAMPING is approximately 5 km away from the lodge. The campsite left very naturally under big trees, is located on the slopes of the mountain with a spectacular view into the savanna. No fences, just endless nature will be lying in front of you.
We offer:
- 4 campsites (children are welcome) each with:
o "braaigrid" for a barbecue
o fire wood
o a water tap
o a waste bin
o a central washing up area
- 1 central ablution block with separated sanitary facilities for women and men each with:
o 3 showers and 3 toilettes
o with hot water provided by a "donkey"
o and candle light for the evening
Frans Indongo Lodge exudes the sense for life of northern Namibia’s people in a most charming way. The complex is modelled on traditional Ovambo homesteads: palisades of tall pointed stakes embrace the lodge and convey a feeling of the warmth and security of home right in the middle of the African bush. Inside the complex a palisade separates the restaurant and swimming pool area from the guest chalets and thereby provides more privacy. A variety of beautiful building materials like natural stone, wood and reed were used for the houses. Items of daily use in Ovambo – earthen pots, voluminous storage baskets or original wooden figures – serve as decoration to emphasise the African theme, and lend a very special charm to the lodge.
