Owner-operated Mazambala Lodge offers comfortable accommodation in traditional thatched bungalows with en suite facilities.

Situated on an island in the flood plain of the Kwando River amidst palms and towering sausage trees, Mazambala has 16 bungalows including three family units. All bungalows have private bathrooms with hot and cold running water. All are equipped with mosquito nets and ceiling fans.

The main lodge consists of a thatched lounge, bar and restaurant on 2.5 meter high stilts with stunning views over the flood plain. The lodge has a large swimming pool and a lapa where guests can sit by the fire at night. A twelve meter high tower with two viewing platforms offers sweeping views of the papyrus and reed-lined river, as well as the vast flood plain.

Mazambala also has its own attractive camp site on the banks of the Kwando River. The campsite is located a 15 minute boat ride from the main lodge.

Please note that the lodge is not always reachable by car, and at times may require access by boat from the campsite.

Activities on offer include game drives, river cruises, bird watching, and nature walks under the expert guidance of Mazambala's local guides. (All activities are charged at an additional cost)
