Lianshulu Lodge is situated under a canopy of shady Jackalberry and Mangosteen trees on the banks of the meandering Kwando River, in the heart of the Mudumu National Park. Lianshulu Lodge offers a true African wilderness experience & a breath-taking view of the Lianshulu Lagoon. The area is a lush wilderness of riverine forest, marsh and open woodland, providing a home to an abundance of wildlife.
There are eleven brick-and-thatch chalets, each with en-suite bathroom facilities. Each of the chalets has a viewing deck. Lianshulu Lodge can accommodate a maximum of 24 guests in 8 twin rooms, 2 double rooms and 1 family room. Of the 8 twin chalets, 4 include a shower and 3 are suites with a bath, shower and outdoor shower. There is 1 wheelchair friendly chalet.
The main lodge building comprises an expansive lounge and dining area, curio shop and bar under thatch. There is also a comprehensive wildlife reference library and a swimming pool.
Meals are prepared by a professional chef and are served at elegantly set tables, under a wild fig tree followed by liqueurs served around the fire.
Nature drives in the park are conducted in open 4X4 vehicles. Other activities include guided morning walks in the park, birding, photographic and sunset boat cruises (water level dependent). All activities are conducted by some of the region's most experienced, resident guides. Wildlife in the area includes buffalo, zebra, wildebeest, waterbuck, roan, sable and oribi, with elephant and hippo being particularly abundant. An abundance of bird species have been recorded in the East Caprivi.
