Island Safari Lodge and Campsite was established in 1973 and is situated along the Thamalakane River. With newly refurbished comfortable and affordable accommodation in the form of air conditioned en-suite chalets with TV and a well-equipped camping site, Island Safari Lodge is the perfect starting point for trips into the Okavango Delta and Savute regions of Botswana’s Wilderness.
Despite many changes over the years, the spirit and character that defined Island Safari Lodge, as conceptualized and built by Tony Graham in 1973, still exists today. For over 30 years the lodge has maintained its legendary status in Maun. It has a bar, restaurant and a large riverfront paved patio, which gives it the atmosphere of an outside café. The lodge also has a good size swimming pool.
Situated 12km North of Maun, Island Safari Lodge is far enough from town to ensure that the bush experience is not interrupted but close enough to take advantage of all the services offered in town.
From the centre of town take the Shorobe Road, heading towards Moremi, after 10km turn left at the Island Safari lodge sign board, and continue on the dirt road for 2km.

The accommodation is comfortable and set in the lodge gardens. The lodge has 12 Heritage Chalets all with en suite showers, DSTV and air conditioning. Island Safari Lodge offers comfortable accommodation nestled in a lush garden. Well spaced out, each room has a lovely view across the tree-lined garden towards the river.
The twelve thatched chalets stand alone, shaded by the foliage of the overhanging trees. Guest amenities are provided.
The spacious campsite is nestled under a riverine canopy, providing plenty of shade for campers. A large, fenced swimming pool is available letting you cool off during the heat of the day.
The campground is subdivided into 10 demarcated campsites, each with access to power and a light. The two main ablution blocks are complimented by a shower block to provide facilities for 100 campers.
Campers can stroll to the lodge along a promenade running along the riverbank to the restaurant and bar where wi-fi is available.
