Chief’s Camp is located in the exclusive Mombo concession of the Moremi Game Reserve. The camp is situated on the north-western tip of Chief’s Island, in what is termed seasonal Delta. This concession is revered as one of the region’s prime game-viewing destinations and is known as the “predator capital” of Africa.
Guest accommodation is comprised of twelve luxury tented rooms, each offering en-suite facilities and a private balcony. Your comfort is ensured with five star amenities including ceiling fans, mini bars and hair dryers in each room. Electricity is supplied by a combination of a silent packed generator and battery system allowing a 24-hour power supply and communication from the lodge with internet facilities. The main lodge complex houses the dining area, where world-class cuisine is served with African ‘flair’. There is an elegant bar, curio shop, library, and on the lower deck a large swimming pool with views across the floodplains where you will often see elephants at close range. In addition Chief’s Camp features a luxury secluded spa with a full range of treatments, available for an additional charge.
Game viewing in the Mombo area of Chief’s Island is nothing short of spectacular at any given time. Apart from its predators, the area is also renowned for its large concentrations of plains-game, elephant and buffalo. Game-drives are conducted in open 4x4 safari vehicles and mokoro excursions are water level dependant.

The bathrooms have floor-to-ceiling windows and folding glass doors leading to outdoor showers and generous tubs are perfect for long, indulgent soaks. In the mood to dine alone together? Relax on your covered deck and look out for elephants, giraffes, buffalo and other wildlife as you enjoy the Camp’s excellent cuisine and wines.
Utmost privacy and superlative comfort are assured from this 2,035 ft2 (620m2) suite, which sleeps up to six – with each guest treated like royalty, but with discretion. Named after the explorer Geoffrey Kent, and inspired by this award-winning photographer and polo-playing philanthropist’s intrepid travels, you can expect characterful interiors as well as a kitchen, indoor lounge, private boma (meaning a ‘safe enclosure’) and secluded deck areas. Included in the perks of this luxurious suite is superb service, which includes your own vehicle and dedicated guide, as well as a personal chef, waiter and a housekeeper.
