Wilderness Chitabe is set on a picturesque tree island within a private concession of the Okavango Delta, bordered by the Moremi Game Reserve. It’s flanked by the Gomoti and Santantadibe rivers, with a richly diverse landscape – from floodplains and marshes to woodlands and grasslands.
The camp features eight newly rebuilt, airy safari tents designed with both comfort and sustainability in mind. Each suite offers high ceilings, eco-friendly cooling, and elegant interiors accented with natural textures. A curved indoor sofa and coffee table create a cozy sitting area—perfect for relaxing with a book or simply enjoying the views. Large mesh windows bring in the breeze and open to shaded private decks with expansive views of the Delta, while indoor and outdoor showers offer a refreshing, immersive connection to nature
Chitabe’s main area is a welcoming space designed for both relaxation and connection. A raised deck links the stylish lounge, dining room, and bar – all overlooking the floodplains where wildlife sightings are common. Guests can cool off in the small pool or join a behind-the-scenes sustainability tour showcasing the camp’s solar-powered systems.

Each tent has been individually curated to enhance the tent experience, the suites feature insulated canvas walls and roofs, creating a “coolbox” environment that maintains a light, airy feel. Stretch tents overhead provide shade while adding elegant, sweeping lines to the architecture. Thoughtful lighting enhances the ambiance throughout the day, while aged brass, wood, and textured wallpaper in the bathrooms add to the organic aesthetic. The spacious interiors have high ceilings, twin beds with en-suite facilities comprising indoor/outdoor showers, large insect-proof mesh openings, and private shaded decks opening to horizon-wide Delta views.
