The JW Marriott Phu Quoc Emerald Bay Resort & Spa, set on the southern sandy shores of Phu Quoc is a 20-minute drive from the airport and a destination in its own right. Designed by Bill Bensley to pay homage to the fictional historic Lamarck University, Asian and European aesthetics are blended in quirky style, evoking a whimsical Wes Anderson-esque ambiance that is utterly unique. The design concept is built around a narrative of a French colonial university campus founded in 1880, abandoned in the 40’s after the war, then restored and transformed into a resort by the Marriott International flagship brand. Each building is billed as ‘department’, with architecture and furnishings designed to reflect the subject of study.

All 244 rooms offer plush bedding, complimentary Wi-Fi, and fanciful character. Villas come with seafront views, balconies, and private pools; the signature villa has its own 50 meter infinity pool. Guests can unwind and indulge at Chanterelle - Spa by JW, a full service spa offering Ayurvedic treatments, body scrubs and wraps, facials, massages. The Department of Physical Education provides guests with free weights, cardiovascular equipment, and complimentary fitness classes, as well as bike rentals, boating, kayaking, and snorkeling options. Choose to lounge by the Sand Pool, Shell Pool, Sun Pool, or Whirlpool, and sip artisanal cocktails mixed by the Department Of Chemistry Bar. Dining options include an all-day dining restaurant, a beachside seafood grill, a smart casual restaurant serving international fare, and a French-style delicatessen and cafe.
