With the mussel & oysters beds located in the bay, in front of your destination, they are noticeably in a league of their own, and there is zero compromise of freshness. After a short scenic flight from our base at the V&A Waterfront, to the quiet West Coast town of Saldanha Bay this one-of-a-kind seafood extravaganza is in a league of its own. Hosted by Kyle & Marti, this is one of those experiences where we prefer to say less and let the day speak for itself.

Exclusive experience

While many first-time guests love the thought of being able to see the Southernmost tip of Africa during their stay, the sad reality for many is that it’s just not possible mainly due to lack of time.

Fear not, we’ve been working hard behind the scenes to bring you another Cape Town Experiences first- offering possibly the best aerial whale watching experience in the world with our Aerial Ocean Experience. (link to the folder with the fact sheet and images)

Landing exclusively at Bloukrans within the marine protected area of the De Hoop Nature Reserve, your journey will depart Cape Town Helicopters hangar within the V&A Waterfront around 08h30, following the gorgeous coastline towards Hermanus and Gansbaai. Before continuing along the coast flying over where the Atlantic Ocean meets the Indian Ocean at the Southern most tip of Africa. Keep an eye out from the vantage point of your helicopter, as we fly over De Hoop home to about 1500 whales during the calving season.

Fun fact – did you know that De Hoop this is a marine protected area and is the perfect spot of the Southern Right Whales to birth their calves as well as other marine life to flourish. This area is largely untouched as no boats, fisherman or water activities are permitted. Landing in a little alcove roughly 10k from Natural Selections Lekkerwater Beach Lodge, Bloukrans, a more private spot you will not find. Enjoy a ‘Champagne Celebration’ and guided beach/ tidal pool safari with a marine biologist to learn about the diversity of this unique area. Enjoy a delicious picnic lunch while watching the dolphins surf the waves, taking your own time to explore your surrounds before its time to enjoy one last aerial whale watching experience as we head back to the V&A Waterfront.

Seeped in history two of our newest offerings will not only take you back to the birth place of South Africa’s world renowned wine industry but even further back to the first inhabitants of our beautiful continent, the San people.

Dating back to the 1652 Klein Constantia is a farm filled with history including ties to George Washington, Jane Austen, and Napoleon Bonaparte to name a few. Famed for its flagship Vin de Constane, which Napoleon requested a bottle a night while in exile at St Helena Bay, it has won numerous awards over the course of the years.

Fast forward to 2024, guests can enjoy a full peninsula scenic flight from our base at the V&A Waterfront, around Cape Point before landing at the famed farm. They will be met by a wine guide, hopping into a wine safari vehicle to enjoy a tour through the vineyards, before experiencing a tasting of their Vin de Constance from the highest point in overlooking the valley and False Bay coast. The most relaxing of all our experiences! Set sail from the V&A Waterfront. Your destination, the iconic and blue flag status Clifton 4th Beachfront. Spend the afternoon swimming, snorkeling, SUPing or simply relaxing on board your luxury catamaran. There is a cash bar on board and catering can range from simple snacks, fresh sushi & oysters, to a full on South African braai (BBQ). So eat, swim, play & relax- keep your eyes open for the added bonus of dolphins!

An experience like no other! Suitable for everyone, from adventure junkies to those looking to dip their toe into downhill mountain biking, there is a trail route for every skill set. Enjoy a short flight from our base at the V&A Waterfront, to collect your rental bike and meet your guide, ex-professional mountain biker Kyle Gifford. Once you've been kitted out, load your bike into one of specially designed bike racks this clip onto our heli and fly onto the most diverse range of mountain biking trails in the Western Cape - MTO Trails Jonkershoek. After a few runs, sit down to enjoy a snack pack and coffee while you reflect the adventures you've just enjoyed before you fly back to Cape Town.

Directly translated to “fire” in Afrikaans, one of South Africa’s 12 official languages. VUUR will delight guests in this intimate dining experience where all the cuisine is cooked over an open fire. Hop on board one of our helicopters and take to the skies from the Cape Town Helicopter’s hangar at the V&A Waterfront, heading across the harbor destined for the Remhoogte Wine Estate, Stellenbosch.

VUUR gives guests who book a lunch experience the choice of two incredible dining options. These options include, either inside the beautiful and rustically converted stable or under an incredible old oak tree, overlooking the wine farm. Both experiences serve a 7-course tasting menu, paired with delicious wines from Remhoogte Wine Estate. Seasonal menus are made of locally sourced produce that are blended, using the versatile cooking medium, that being fire, to bring out their delicious flavors of dishes in this unique and intimate setting.

VUUR is more than just fire cooked, plated food, every meal is an experience!

Board one of our King Air B200’s located at our hangar just outside of the Cape Town International Airport. This will be your departure point where you will start the day’s journey by flying 2-hours north of Cape Town, to the southernmost edge of the Kalahari and into one South Africa’s leading private game reserves, Tswalu, Kalahari. Tswalu is home to rhino, leopard, buffalo and lion. Here Michlin star, Chef Jan Henrik van der Westhuizen tells a story of South African culture through food by blending indigenous ingredients from the wide-open savannahs, taking guests on gastronomic adventure that will leave them spellbound.

Without giving away too much of the extraordinary journey that awaits… guests will be left speechless, not only by the exquisite flavors and textures of the exceptional cuisine, but also by the captivating theatrics and narratives woven into this unique experience.
