Named after the lioness made famous by George and Joy Adamson’s biographical book and film “Born Free”, Elewana Elsa’s Kopje remains one of the most elegant lodges in Africa, in one of the most spectacular settings.

Almost invisible to the eye as you approach its home on Mughwango Hill, Elsa's Kopje blends into the rocky crags of the “kopje” (small hill), above the site of George Adamson’s campsite. Every cottage is the ultimate ‘room-with-a-view’, uniquely designed and crafted, incorporating the natural features of the rocky hillside.

A wild and semi-arid landscape, dotted with doum palms and traversed by weaving green lines of the 13 life-giving rivers, Meru National Park offers wonderful game watching opportunities, and is one of the best locations to view rhino in their natural habitat.

Nestled into the hillside and overlooking the vast plains of Meru National Park, each of Elsa’s Kopje’s six open-fronted cottages are uniquely designed incorporating the features of the kopje, and enjoying a magnificent view.

Each cottage consists of a main bedroom, ensuite bathroom and sitting area/private deck.

Honeymoon Cottages (3 rooms)

Africa is undeniably romantic, and three Honeymoon Cottages at Elsa's Kopje offer the ultimate in romance and seclusion.

Two of the Honeymoon Cottages feature a main double bedroom, ensuite bathroom, a small private deck and gorgeous outdoor bath.

The third honeymoon cottage is a large three-leveled luxury suite, with main double bedroom, bathroom, open sitting room and a private deck.

Elsa’s Private House (1 room)

Elsa's Private House is an exclusive accommodation set slightly apart from the rest of the lodge. It is an exclusive retreat for families, with its own garden, infinity pool, sitting room and dining area.

The Private House has a double ensuite master bedroom with bath and an outdoor shower, and a twin ensuite bedroom with shower. Private House can fit two extra beds, for children under 16yrs.

Family Cottage (1 room)

The family cottage consists of an ensuite double bedroom, ensuite twin bedroom, joined by a sitting room and large private decking. The family cottage also offers an outdoor bath.
