Why stay here?
Place: Little Makalolo lies in one of Hwange’s most ecologically-diverse areas, ensuring both variety and numbers of animals year round. A large number of waterholes attracts game from far and wide, and with one in front of camp, wildlife activity can be enjoyed from your breakfast table or from the camp’s log-pile hide. Game drives, walks and cultural activities sometimes end at our “pizza stop” at Madison Pan, where a Star Bed is ready for your sleep out under the stars.
Accommodation: Intimate Little Makalolo is nestled in a dappled tree-line. Its six spacious tents (including a family unit), with both indoor and outdoor showers, are connected to the main area by teak walkways, where a towering false mopane tree shades a separate dining and living area with views of the much-frequented waterhole.
Purpose: Along the Park’s southern boundary, many mammals fall victim to snaring. Thus our partnership with the Scorpions Anti-Poaching Unit – which includes conducting patrols and removing snares – is critical in aiding the survival of Hwange’s wildlife.
NOTE: Little Makalolo is being rebuilt, to open halfway through 2018.
