Notre-Dame Cathedral Basilica of Saigon was constructed between 1863 and 1880 by French colonists. Located in downtown Ho Chi Minh city, the cathedral is officially known as the Cathedral Basilica of Our Lady of The Immaculate Conception. Built using materials imported from France, the red brick neo-Romanesque church with two bell towers, measures an approximate height of 60 meters. The towers are tipped with iron spires and feature six bronze bells. The cathedral was named for the Virgin Mary, and features a peaceful garden setting, interior walls inlaid with devotional tablets and stained glass windows.
