Seal Island, an island located approximately 16 kilometres off the coast of Simon’s Town, is home to some 75 000-odd seals – the favourite snack of Great White Sharks. For this reason, False Bay is home to some of the densest concentrations of these formidable ocean predators, including some of the largest specimens that have ever been sighted. The Great Whites seen in False Bay also have a reputation for breaching, and the famous series of images taken by Chris Fallows were shot there. False Bay cage diving trips run from Simon’s Town.
