Ndali Lodge is set stunningly amidst the Bunyaruguru crater lake region of Western Uganda overlooking its own Lake Nyinambuga in an extinct volcano. It is 26 kilometres south of Fort Portal at the centre of 1000 acres of private family-owned fertile farmland still cultivated in a traditional style. The laid-back farmstyle with authentic quality cuisine is the perfect place to unwind after the rigours of tracking chimpanzees in the nearby Kibale Forest. The owners and staff take great care of all their guests and families are welcome.
Ndali Lodge comprises 8 natural en-suite stone and thatch cottages . Each consists of a bath, shower, toilet, hand basin and a private verandah. Enjoy sundowners here or in the main lodge area, where views of the snow-capped peaks of the 'Mountains of the Moon', the Rwenzoris may be good at times. Wildlife in and around the lodge and lake is a mix of excellent birds, bats and frogs!
For those who don't mind rising early, the 45 minutes drive to the Kibale park HQ is worth taking just to be based at Ndali. A visit to Uganda would not be complete without experiencing the wonders Ndali has to offer.
Ndali's 8 individual cottages, all of which offer panoramic views of the Rwenzori Mountains and Queen Elizabeth National Park, are built of local stone and thatch and are lit by solar energy.
Each cottage, large enough to accommodate a family, has en-suite facilities with bath and separate shower.
All cottages have a private veranda, so at the end of the day you can watch the sun setting behind the snow-capped Rwenzori mountains.
